Abstract | The design and implementation of a user interface for event-action settings for ubiquitous computing environments is presented. There are many devices connected to a network in ubiquitous computing environments. However, many kinds of networks coexist, and they use different communication protocols. Therefore, many systems are composed of individual networks using the same protocols. A system that can integrate different networks is being developed in our laboratory. A user interface to set the relation between events and action is simultaneously required to provide various services in such environments.
We address requirement and problems in creating such user interfaces. Taking these into account, we implemented a system to generate a user interface using metadata obtained form devices. |
